Engineered Hardwoods

Ease of Installation with the Benefit of Gorgeous Hardwood Floors!

Engineered hardwoods are a relatively new invention, and are all the beauty of natural wood from a hardwood floor, and all the ease of installation of a laminate floor.  Engineered hardwood floors look quite similar to hardwoods, and are actually a wood product, however the flooring is not nailed or glued to the subfloor– it’s installed as a floating floor over your existing subfloor once the carpet or other material has been removed.  The nice thing about this is that it’s easier to install, and it’s also easier to change if you decide you want new floors in the days ahead.  Where normal hardwoods are glued and nailed together, and to the floor–  and are difficult to remove or change, engineered hardwood floor installations in Atlanta are simple to change and really easy to remove.  If you want to change your flooring with some regularity, and you’re on a budget, this might be a great solution for you.  Hardwood flooring in Suwanee and other locations, may not be the best material for you, however, if you have dogs or if you want your flooring to be pet friendly.  Hardwood planks of both the engineered and regular variety can be scratched from dogs or other animals.

Ceramic Tile

Durable and Functional!  Great for Kitchens and Baths!

Ceramic Tile is so very durable and is a wonderful product for wet spaces particularly, including kitchens and bathrooms.  The product is actually attached to the subflooring with mortar, then grouted, so it provides a finish that can literally last decades with no degradation in beauty. These floors almost never scratch, and are impervious to most foot traffic as well as pet traffic.  Their only liability can be cracking from dropping something heavy on them–  but even then, with a little forethought and saving a few extra tiles, an individual tile or two can be replaced with little difficulty if one happens to crack.  Tiles today can be installed with a variety of design as well, so it’s easy to mix and match tiles to get a creative design if you want.

Ceramic tiles today also have the advantage of being created in many different patterns or designs themselves, so if you want a ceramic tile floor that has a wood grain– it’s now available. This gives a homeowner the flexibility of being able to spruce up any room where they want the most durable yet beautiful materials.  Restore Now Construction started in the Atlanta market as a flooring company, and as clients wanted more services and our excellent work, we expanded into other areas of renovations and remodeling (again), so we’re pro’s at installing just the kind of flooring you need.

Hardwoods

Tried, Tested, and a Long History of Serving Homeowners

If you go back in time here in the US, you’ll find that most older homes were constructed with natural hardwood floors.  The materials were installed, sanded down, stained, varnished, and they gave really long life and service to homeowners. They also stood up reasonably well to water because they are basically sealed with the varnish that was applied, so they were good to be used in the entire home.  Older hardwood floors can often be re-sanded, re-stained, and re-sealed with polyurethane–  our modern version of varnish.  Old or new, hardwoods are a fantastic look for the floors in your home and give your house an upgraded feel.  They also give you the advantage of being able to change the look and color scheme of a room by adding accent rugs or throw rugs, which many people add to help not only with aesthetics but also with sound, as hardwood flooring can make a house noisier as sound tends to bounce around more in the hard floor environment.

Floors are installed most often with glue and by nailing them to the subfloor, so they are not so easily removed, and when they are, they can often damage the subfloor underneath.  Many lay carpet over top of them when they want a change, and it’s not uncommon to have an older home with hardwood floors underneath the wall to wall carpet.  We’re hardwood installation pro’s–  and some of the hardwoods today come pre urethaned and stained, so they can be installed easily, dust free, and don’t require sanding.  They’re a great solution if you want natural materials and an upgraded look to the home.

Laminate Floors

Laminate Flooring– The New Guys on the Block

So about 15 years ago, a company called Pergo rose to popularity by innovating the laminate floor.  In fact they became so well known that some people to this day refer to an laminate flooring as “Pergo,” even though there are literally hundreds of manufacturers of laminate flooring materials. Laminate floors are easy to install, they’re long lasting, easy to change if you want to, and they’re really scratch resistant.  Early laminate flooring however didn’t do so well with water and they were not recommended for baths or areas that had a fair amount of moisture around them.  Newer laminate flooring is more impervious to water, and works great in a kitchen area.  It can withstand spills, mopping, and the like, and if you have pets–  it’s fantastic because it’s truly scratch resistant.  It’s not uncommon to see 20 or 30 year warranties (check your specific flooring manufacturer for their exact warranty details as they differ from material to material) against scratching or peeling for these new laminate floors.

Aesthetically, they give the look and feel of real wood– and even these days have printed materials on them that can me them look like ceramic tile, so there’s tremendous diversity in the laminate flooring installation in Lawrenceville that you might have.

Even more recently, laminate flooring companies have become even more clever and have offered an upgraded material that is actually made of vinyl instead of the fiber material that most laminate flooring is made of.  These vinyl materials are just as easy to install, yet are completely impervious to water, making them the right choice for wet areas where wood or normal laminate might not fair well.  However, they give you all the aesthetic appeal of a normal wood floor, with all the durability and water resistance of vinyl.  The new vinyl planks are truly amazing, and you’d be amazed how very much a vinyl laminate floor looks just like a wood floor–  and they continue to get better and better!

Vinyl and Linoleum

All the Rage for So Many Years!

Vinyl and Linoleum are another product that we can install in your home.  Where particularly laminate flooring can be installed relatively easily with inexpensive tools, linoleum comes in very large pieces, and normally must be installed by a trained professional like we provide.  Many new homes today still use linoleum in the kitchen because it is so very water resistant and easy to clean.  Like laminate flooring, the prints for linoleum can look like ceramic tile or like wood with a very realistic feel.  It’s generally not as expensive as particularly a wood floor, and with the newer finishes it can give you the genuine feel of having a different kind of material on the floor.
